We are a family from Milan. Wanting to give our son a sibling, we turned to Dr. Garavelas of the Iaso Clinic in Athens. We were immediately struck by Dr. Garavelas's clarity and expertise in explaining the process, Mrs. Laura's kindness at the clinic, and Mrs. Susy's expertise, availability, and patience in handling all the paperwork and in listening and offering encouragement during difficult times. Professor Garavelas was referred to us by a gynecologist in Milan in October 2023. In November, we had our first visit to his office in Rome, and from the very beginning, he seemed clear, decisive, and very professional in outlining the path we would take. We were supported with great care throughout the entire process, even remotely, by his assistant Susy, who was always available and present. In May, I began stimulation and we traveled to Athens, to a modern and well-organized clinic. There, we were welcomed by Lucia, a friendly and reassuring assistant who made us feel cared for and never alone. After an initial pickup with limited success, the professor recommended dual stimulation, a choice that proved decisive. The second pickup yielded two embryos, which were subsequently transferred on June 25th. The beta tests were positive, and both embryos implanted. At the end of February, we finally welcomed our twins, a boy and a girl. We are immensely grateful to Professor Garavelas and his entire staff for their great professionalism, expertise, and humanity. They guided us through a delicate journey with professionalism, care, and attention, turning a dream into a wonderful reality.

In two days, our baby will turn 4 months old. Thanks to Dr. Garavelas and his medical team, we were able to realize our dream of becoming parents. I hadn't been able to write anything until now because sometimes, even today, it seems like a dream... It had been a tough few years before I came into contact with Dr. Garavelas. The clinic where he works is decidedly cutting-edge, and you realize this after spending years in clinical laboratories and hospitals, or after hearing the stories of other couples with the same dream as you who, alas, couldn't make it come true in Italy: the tests I underwent, the treatments I had to undergo, the medications used, here in Italy aren't even covered by an extra protocol, let alone the protocol itself, as Dr. Garavelas proposes. Our little Giosuè arrived on the second attempt, but immediately after the first, the Doctor showed a desire to understand what could truly be helpful for success, specifically through clinical tests. I've discovered that in Italy or other centers abroad, they're only done after several attempts, perhaps not even always. We had a great time. Kudos to Susy, who organizes and supports everything in an exemplary manner and is patient even when we mothers are in serious crisis. And to Louckia, who is a special and adorable woman, without whom I believe Dr. Garavelas would lose much of the HUMANITY that, thanks to her, this process provides, providing security, acceptance, kindness, and smiles, which never hurt, especially when you're undergoing heterologous ART. Thank you, Doctor. I don't know if we'll see each other again because I don't think I'm old enough to start over for a second baby, but if I were to change my mind, I'd certainly know I'd be safe returning to you as a professional.

After 3 wasted years in Italy, we were able to embrace our Vittoria on the first try. The clinic has absolutely innovative techniques that don't exist in Italy!!! Genoa, October 14, 2024 My partner and I turned to the Garavelas Medical Group clinic in Athens to realize our dream of starting a family, after several failed attempts in Italy with heterologous fertilization, where we weren't even able to obtain blastocysts. Today, thanks to Professor Garavelas Attanasio and his incredible team, we can hold our twins Edoardo and Riccardo in our arms. From the first moment, the clinic's modernity and cutting-edge technology amazed us—a truly futuristic center. But what struck us most was the humanity and sensitivity with which we were welcomed. Professor Garavelas is an extraordinary person, both for his unparalleled expertise and for the attention and care he devotes to each couple. We never felt like numbers, but people. Yesterday Dr Garavelas performed the ovarian rejuvenation therapy. At this point I have of course no facts to share yet on the possible result of this treatment but I do already want to talk about my experience with the Dr and the clinic. My main goal is to give clear information to women who wish to walk down this same path in the hope it can help others. Admitted, I was quite nervous when I arrived at IASO center, I’ve reached a certain age, I was in a foreign country with a language I do not understand and about to undergo a laparoscopic treatment not quite knowing exactly what to expect. The team of Dr Garavelas was however very professional right from the start, they stood by me every step of the way, explaining every next action and ensuring I did not feel lost or uneasy. I found everything to be very well organized, whenever I needed to go to the another part of the hospital for blood tests or paperwork, I was always accompanied by a member of his team ensuring all was in order and would go smoothly. I met with Dr. Garavellas on the first day, he took his time to explain the procedure and also gave honest feedback on risk of failure or what the most realistic path to follow is. At no point did I have the impression something was made to look more optimistic than the reality. He stayed with me till I had no more questions to ask. On the day of the surgery, I found all safety measures to be in place, every single member of medical staff I encountered always checked the identity bracelet around my arm, everyone questioned me on possible allergies and medical history. I do not have easy veins when it comes to taking blood or inserting an infusion but also on that point, nobody had to make a second attempt. I saw Dr. Garavelas again shortly before the surgery and after the procedure he and 2 of his team members visited me in my room to check up on me, something which was highly appreciated, and to inform me that everything went as expected. My thanks and appreciation go of course in the first place to Dr Garavelas himself, also to Lucia for being so comforting and to Katerina for being caring and reachable. I also wish to extend my gratitude to Effie of Medipass who gave me the correct info and direction. A special thank you to Aphrodite for being by my side those two days, for supporting me and for being the radiant person she is! Once I am further down the path I have started, I will certainly share more here, hoping to give some courage to other women who have the dream and wish to have a child.

What an amazing service l received at the clinic on the 15th January 2023. Everything went smooth from the initial consultation with Katerina who gave me the overview of the clinic, to arranging the appointment with DR Garavelas. On arrival at the Clinic it was very busy but I had a warm welcome from Afroditi who kept me informed of the waiting times and when I will be seen next. Consultation with DR Gravels was very professional and reassuring and not dismissive like the doctors I have seen in the UK. He explained the procedure in details and he gave us his honest opinion. My partner and I are very grateful to Afroditi and her team for making our time at the clinic so comfortable and for advising us of nice restaurants to eat and places to visit and they kept us smiling through out. I wish to comment on the Excellent service received at the clinic on the 28/11/2023. My visit was all good right from the start of the appointment and doctor selection through Effie, then Katerina who arranged the appointment with DR Garavelas. On arrival at the Clinic, It was a warm welcome from Afroditi and the initial consultation with Dr Garavelas’s assistant. All these were very assuring. My consultation with DR Gravels was very good and professional. He explained the procedures and did inform of us of his honest opinions. I want to express my special gratitude to Afroditi and Eirini who made my stay and visit very easy and comfortable. They were both professional and humorous.
